Hello! My name is Hannah Bass. I am a first year grad student at Old Dominion University and I am majoring in cybersecurity. After graduation in May 2025, I will be officially entering the workforce. I am a SFS CyberCorp Scholarship recipient but specifically have been given the opportunity to be under Old Dominion University’s unique version of that program known as the SFS CyberLeADERS. This program focuses on creating leaders in cybersecurity by outlining research, diversity, entrepreneurship, internships, and service learning. This scholarship has given me the opportunity to focus entirely on my school work because of the inclusion of a healthy stipend. The idea is to fund students getting an education in cybersecurity to in-return work for a government entity. To fulfill this requirement it was important to have a keen interest in public service and a desire to constantly learn. I am expected to complete this program in May 2025 so my main interests right now are to find internship opportunities within the federal government and figure out my niche within the field of cybersecurity.
